Thank you for your support – Behaviour Update

0 4

As a club we continue to recognise the great support we receive week in from all our fans both at home and away. To see such a variety of fans following us wherever we play brings great pleasure to all the directors, management, players and staff.

As has been well publicised, a small selection of our fan base has recently been involved with some unsavoury behaviour, which has led to Police engagement, and a small number of individuals being arrested and now issued with appropriate sanctions by the police such as bans from the Black Gold together with other football stadiums. We have worked closely with the police to assist them in identifying problem fans and will continue so to do whenever the need arises. We have also worked closely with our well behaved young supporters and have been so impressed with their willingness to engage with us.

It must be said that the limited number of individuals that have let the club down has not weakened the strength of support from our other loyal fans, and as such we would like to pass on our thanks to all who have travelled recently to support the Dolphins. It is very rare to receive positive praise about fan behaviour, however the recent away games our support has been fantastic, and we have received favourable and complimentary remarks from a number of the Stewarding teams at Clubs we have visited praising the behaviour of our young fans and also the level of their support for the team.

Unfortunately at Gosport the young fans were let down by the behaviour of a (very) small number of older supporters who should have known better and we will be taking appropriate action to ensure that our message of zero tolerance of any conduct that does not sit with the standards that we wish to maintain is rigorously enforced.

We will continue to put in place positive measures in terms of crowd behaviour management  and look to build ever greater relationships with our fan base, and look forward to an ever increasing following of the team for the remainder of this season. COYD.

Thanks from James (Safety Officer) and Chris (Chairman)
