Guglielmo Vicario says he is ‘not well protected’ in certain Tottenham games
Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario admits there is a lack of protection from corners in the Premier League, something he has been forced to get used to after arriving from Serie A.

Vicario is now back in full training and much to the delight of Tottenham supporters, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that the Italian is not far away from returning to the pitch.
However, the 28-year-old might not just walk back into the team as new signing, Antonin Kinsky, has been extremely impressive since arriving at the club a little over a month ago.
The former Empoli man will know that he now faces a battle for his number one shirt, and he is certainly not the kind of character to shirk a challenge.

The one area of his game that the Spurs number one might need to improve to see off competition from Kinsky is the way he deals with corner kicks and indirect set-pieces.
Vicario admits that the lack of protection from the referees in the Premier League has come as a surprise to him.
The Tottenham man has now said in an interview with Messaggero Veneto: “Certainly the goalkeeper is not well protected here. Especially on corner kicks it’s hard for a goalkeeper to make his way, adapting was complicated.”
Vicario also spoke about the difference in fan culture between England and Italy, suggesting that he has found the supporters to be far more relaxed in the former.
He added: “The approach of the people. Entire families with children go to cheer for their team. I cheer for and not against, in Italy instead, there is a more maniacal approach, the football match is too often a way to vent one’s frustrations. Not here.”
Vicario on immersing himself into life at Spurs
The Italy international might have only been at Tottenham for 18 months, but he is already seen as one of the senior statesmen of the side.
Vicario has also become a fan favourite with the Spurs faithful, and when asked how he has won over the fans, the goalkeeper responded: “I think it depends on the objective with which one wants to immerse oneself in the new reality.
“I did it immediately at 360° by bonding with the people of Tottenham also because I speak English well. People are also happy to see people who sacrifice themselves for the colours of their shirts.”
