Radu Dragusin is defiant that he will come back fitter and stronger after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, with the centre-back also making a promise to his Tottenham teammates and fans.

Spurs have confirmed that Dragusin is set to undergo surgery after suffering an ACL injury, which has brought a premature end to the Romanian defender’s season.
The 22-year-old picked up the injury in an innocuous incident against Elfsborg last week as he seemed to land awkwardly and twist his knee.
It means that the former Genoa man is the latest in a long line of players on the treatment table at Hotspur Way, which does not appear to be getting smaller, much to Ange Postecoglou‘s frustration.
Dragusin sends a message to Tottenham fans
The Spurs defender admitted that he is now embarking on one of the most challenging times of his career as he stares at the long road to recovery.
However, Dragusin promised the supporters that he would work as hard as possible to come back stronger from this setback.
The Tottenham man wrote on Instagram: “Football gives you incredible moments, but also challenges—some harder than others. Unfortunately, I now face one of those challenges: a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in my right knee.
“That being said, one of the many things I’ve learned from this sport is that behind every obstacle hides an opportunity to learn and grow. Football doesn’t just teach you how to win—it teaches you how to fight when things get tough. A difficult period lies ahead, but I will come back stronger, and I will work hard every single day during my post-surgery recovery to make that happen.
“Even though I won’t be able to be on the pitch with my teammates, I will support them with all my heart—both at Tottenham and with the National Team. I have no doubt that they will keep fighting with determination to achieve our goals.
“I want to thank you all for your messages of support after my injury—those mean a lot and give me even more motivation. Also, yesterday was a special day for me, and the overwhelming number of birthday messages I received truly surprised and touched me. Thank you all for your kind words!”
Huge setback for Dragusin
After a difficult start to his time at Tottenham, Dragusin‘s career was heading in the right direction over the last few months.
While the young centre-back was far from flawless, he was emerging as a real leader as he grew in stature and confidence with more game time, which is why this injury comes as a major setback for the youngster.
However, the signing of Kevin Danso has softened the blow for Postecoglou, who is now not as short of options at central defence as he was a few weeks ago.
