The Everton Forum • Re: January Transfers - 2024-25
If we'd still got Dyche and not won the last 3 then I'd be in full blown Captain Mannering mode, but with what we've got now we should be able to eek out enough points from the remaining games[Inc home ones against Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton] that we didn't need to risk the long term.Cannot possibly tell me, despite the wins, going into January and coming out the other side minus Dom, Mangala, Broja, and adding nobody, we can say we're happy.
Massive risk this, understand the club is in a difficult situation with targets and ffp, but it's a very very disappointing window.
The contract situations come July are a worry. We're going to need as much cash available to be able to negotiate decent deals for everything we'll need, else we'll be hamstrung like the last few years dealing with only those who'll accept 'pay you next week, promise'.
Mangala could have changed the summer too. Maybe we thought we had our man and would have been able to negotiate him o. The cheap with their financial situation, but now we're going to have to go looking for a replacement so need more £££.
