Harry Kane continues to rewrite Bundesliga history

Harry Kane has been in prolific form since swapping the Premier League for the Bundesliga, and his latest milestone only strengthens his reputation as one of the finest finishers in the game.

On Saturday, during Bayern Munich’s clash against Holstein Kiel, the England captain reached 50 Bundesliga appearances, and in typical fashion, he marked the occasion with a brace.

The first goal came just before half-time when Kane expertly met a Kingsley Coman cross with a precise header to double Bayern’s lead.

Moments into the second half, he was at it again, this time rising to meet a Raphaël Guerreiro delivery and powering home yet another header.

It was a performance that not only helped Bayern secure a comfortable victory but also further cemented Kane’s status as a dominant force in Germany’s top flight.

Harry Kane eclipses Erling Haaland’s Bundesliga record

The goals against Holstein Kiel brought Kane’s Bundesliga tally to 55 goals in 50 appearances, setting a new record for the most goals scored by any player in their first 50 matches in Germany’s top division.

The previous record, held by Haaland from his time at Borussia Dortmund, stood at 50 goals in 50 games, but Kane’s relentless consistency has now pushed him beyond that mark.

His numbers this season alone are staggering. Kane has found the net 19 times in just 18 Bundesliga appearances, while in the UEFA Champions League, he has already struck six times in seven matches.

Such a return has not only made him the focal point of Bayern’s attack but has also given weight to the argument that, in terms of pure goal-scoring ability, he may well be a more complete striker than Haaland.

Spurs fans react to Harry Kane’s record-breaking exploits

Following the latest milestone, Tottenham supporters were quick to voice their admiration for Kane’s achievements, with many taking to social media to reaffirm their belief that he remains one of the best strikers in world football.

One fan wrote on X: “I am still on the hill he is the best out-and-out finisher I have seen.” Another added: “Still the best centre-forward on the planet.”

The debate over whether Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy made the right decision in allowing Kane to leave has also resurfaced, with some questioning what could have been had Spurs built a stronger squad around him.

One supporter remarked: “Just think if Levy had built a team worthy, around a once-in-a-generation talent???” Others could not resist comparing him directly to Haaland, with one post reading: “Shock. Kane is better than Haaland. He is GOAT.”

For Kane, personal accolades will mean little without silverware, and his primary focus will be to finally secure a major trophy with Bayern Munich.

Despite his incredible individual records, he has yet to lift a significant title in his career, but with Bayern’s relentless pursuit of domestic and European glory, he may not have to wait much longer.
