Micky van de Ven is absent for Tottenham

The Spurs head coach needed an injection of youth with Tottenham beating Elfsborg 3-0 on Thursday evening after Dane Scarlett, Damola Ajayi and Mikey Moore all scored to secure the club’s automatic passage to the round of sixteen.

Tottenham received another setback in midweek with Radu Dragusin suffering a knee injury during the Europa League win.

The Romanian international was forced off just minutes into the second half after landing awkwardly and feeling discomfort in his knee.

Spurs have taken four points from the last 30 available and have been beaten in six of their last seven Premier League matches, losing each of the previous four.

There was some positive news this morning after Tottenham confirmed the transfer of Kevin Danso from RC Lens on an initial loan, which will be made permanent in the summer. The defender will be available for Thursday’s Carabao Cup tie at Liverpool.

What is the Tottenham team vs Brentford?

Ange Postecoglou admitted in Friday’s press conference most of Spurs’ absentees could return in 10 days, with striker Dominic Solanke probably a week behind them, but the Australian is less sure when Cristian Romero will return.
