FOX Broadcaster Takes Jab At Tom Brady Amid NFC Title Matchup

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady experienced plenty of glory throughout his 23-year playing career.

However, the seven-time Super Bowl champion and three-time league MVP underwent a humbling experience during Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles-Washington Commanders NFC title matchup. Brady, now a lead analyst for FOX Sports, was forced to remember an all-time low moment: Super Bowl LII.

“Nick Foles in the building. Super Bowl MVP. Led to that Super Bowl win. Do you know he played that game?” Kevin Burkhardt said to Brady during the live broadcast as the camera panned to Foles in attendance.

Brady’s New England Patriots fell to Foles and the Eagles, 41-33, seven years ago. The defeat prevented Brady’s dynasty from clinching a three-peat as the following season, New England returned to the Super Bowl and defeated the Los Angeles Rams. It wasn’t the most devastating defeat of the 47-year-old’s illustrious career, but it was still worthy of remaining on Brady’s mind, now as part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Nick, I don’t hate you,” Brady said. “I’m just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn’t.”

Brady’s comment was in reference to a third-and-5 play New England ran in the second quarter of Super Bowl LII. Running back James White flipped the ball to wideout Danny Amdenola off a hand-off while Brady bolted down awaiting a pass. Brady, however, dropped the wide-open pass that would’ve granted the Patriots with a favorable field position and a chance at going ahead and alter history as we know it.

Meanwhile, Foles hauled in his chance at a reception in the famed “Philly Special” play that came right before halftime.
