New reports now suggest that Tyler Dibling’s decision is far from made, with RB Leipzig gaining traction in their efforts to secure the winger. However, Spurs are still in ‘concrete talks’ with his agents.
According to Florian Plettenberg on X, RB Leipzig are determined to sign the Southampton teenager, with the German side convinced that Dibling is open to making a move to the Bundesliga.
The journalist revealed that the German club have already had initial talks with the 18-year-old and based on those talks, they believe he is open to making a switch to Germany.
According to his tweet, Leipzig are pushing to complete the deal this winter, or at the latest, by the start of next season. As for Tottenham, they remain in concrete talks with Dibling’s management.
Tottenham’s next steps and Southampton’s valuation
Despite Southampton’s struggles in the Premier League this season, the club have made it clear that any offer for Tyler Dibling must meet their valuation, which reportedly stands at £55 million.
Such a figure is likely to deter any serious bids during the January transfer window, particularly for a player still in the early stages of his professional career.
With Tottenham Hotspur currently prioritising reinforcements that align with both their long-term vision and immediate needs, it seems unlikely that they will meet Southampton’s demands this winter.
Instead, a summer approach for Dibling appears more realistic, provided his valuation becomes more negotiable or his circumstances at St. Mary’s change.
