WOODS BACK AT IPSWICH
Dundalk FC defender Calum Woods was back at English Premier League club Ipswich Town this week.
The 15-year-old spent a week on trial with The Tractor Boys in early December, where he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory for their Under-16s.
An Under-16 international for the North, Calum has been training with Dundalk’s first-team squad in pre-season and played the second half of the friendly with League of Ireland Champions Shelbourne at the AUL Complex on 11th January.
Woods arrived back at Ipswich last weekend, taking in their senior game at home to Manchester City on Sunday, before commencing training the following day. He was called up to train with their Under-21 squad on Tuesday.
Calum completed his week with the Portman Road club – who have Irish internationals Chiedozie Ogbene, Dara O’Shea, Sammie Szmodics and Jack Taylor in their ranks – on Saturday. He provided an assist in a 5-0 win for the Under-16s.
