Match Preview: Queen’s Park vs Greenock Morton

0 0

After last week’s extra time Scottish Cup win over Montrose, The Spiders return to William Hill Championship action this weekend as Greenock Morton make the short trip up the M8.

This will be the third meeting of the teams this season and Spiders fans will be hoping for a similar outcome to the previous two, which ended in 1-0 wins for Queen’s.

With training cancelled due to the Red Weather Warning in place, the club media team spoke to Callum Davidson and Calum Ferrie via Zoom to get their thoughts.

The season so far
The Spiders go into this one on unbeaten in the last two league matches, and having kept clean sheets in both of those games. A 2-0 win at home to Livingston to start 2025 was followed up by a solid performance away to league leaders Falkirk, earning a point from the match which ended 0-0. Queen’s currently occupy fifth place in the William Hill Championship table, six points behind Partick Thistle in fourth and five points ahead of Raith Rovers in sixth.

Dougie Imrie’s side sit seventh in the table with their last league outing having been an excellent 2-1 win at home to Partick Thistle. Incredibly that match was their last competitive one, and was played on 31st December. The Ton go into this one unbeaten in their last five having won two and drawn three of their fixtures during the month of December.
