MMA star Ibragim Ibragimov’s brother ready for Manchester United

Amir Ibragimov: The Next Big Thing at Manchester United

At just 16 years old, Amir Ibragimov is being hailed as Manchester United’s next Wayne Rooney, a player who could redefine what it means to play for the Red Devils. With the club enduring a challenging season, the spotlight has turned to its youth academy in hopes of unearthing the next generation of stars. In Amir, they may have struck gold.

Amir’s performances for Manchester United’s U18s have been nothing short of sensational. His explosive pace, vision, and natural goal-scoring ability have drawn comparisons to Rooney, and some believe he could surpass the club legend. According to United in Focus, Amir is living up to the hype, delivering standout performances that have scouts, coaches, and fans buzzing. Most recently, he played a pivotal role in an 8-0 demolition of Leeds United’s youth team, further solidifying his reputation as one of the brightest prospects in the game.

His older brother, MMA fighter Ibragim Ibragimov, shares that belief. “My brother is the next big thing. He’s ready for the first team, he just needs the chance,” Ibragim said. “They’re comparing him to Wayne Rooney, but I believe he’ll be an even better version of Rooney. Inshallah, this is his year.”

A Family of Phenomenal Talent

The Ibragimov family isn’t just producing football stars. They’re an extraordinary athletic dynasty. Amir’s two younger brothers, Gazik (15) and Muhammad (12), are also part of Manchester United’s academy, showcasing the incredible depth of talent in this family. Their father, originally from Dagestan, moved the family to Manchester to create opportunities for his children, and the results speak for themselves.

While Amir is captivating the football world, his older brother Ibragim Ibragimov is carving out a name in the world of mixed martial arts. The 23-year-old featherweight is undefeated with an 8-0 record and trains under the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov in Dagestan.

Fighting in the Professional Fighters League (PFL), Ibragim is set to compete in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena, where he’ll look to add another victory to his growing resume.

Training with Khabib and his team has been transformative for Ibragim.

“Khabib is like a big brother in the gym,” he told MMA Junkie Radio. “He’s a role model for all of us, not just as a fighter but as a person. He represents MMA, our religion, and what it means to be humble and disciplined.”

Ibragim credits Khabib’s mentorship and the training environment in Dagestan for his rapid growth in the sport.

“The first time I met him, I was just a fan taking a picture. Now, he knows me personally, and I’m part of the team. That’s life-changing.”

Two Stars Rising

The Ibragimov brothers represent excellence in two different sports, but their shared qualities—discipline, humility, and an unrelenting work ethic—set them apart. As Amir continues to dominate on the football pitch and Ibragim rises in MMA, the world is watching this family closely.

For Manchester United, Amir could be the answer to their search for the next global superstar. For MMA fans, Ibragim is a name to remember. Together, the Ibragimov brothers are proving that greatness runs in the family.
