Tottenham player ratings vs Everton – 1/10 for three senior stars
After the referee’s whistle put an end to another 90 minutes of Premier League action in the North West, it’s time for our Tottenham vs Everton player ratings, as the Lilywhites fall to the Toffees in Merseyside.
Over the duration of the match, we analysed each player’s individual performance, rating them on a scale of 1-10. Here’s how they got on.
Tottenham player ratings vs Everton
Antonin Kinsky: Toni made some important stops today that prevented it from being a cricket score. He claimed crosses with ease and made a great save to deny Mangala, as he tipped a curling shot onto the post. 7.
Pedro Porro: Porro was really poor again, as he was hopeless in and out of possession, preferring to sprint forward and jog back. An awful defensive work rate that costs Tottenham week in week out. Terrible again. 1.
Radu Dragusin: Dragusin was hooked at half-time after another disgraceful defensive display. He got embarrassed by Ndiaye who then went on to make it 2-0 and was genuinely just shocking. 1.
Ben Davies: On his return to the XI, Davies could’ve had a better game. Obviously, conceding three goals is never good, but his overall defending wasn’t great either. Despite making a few tackles here and there, he was often dominated in the physical duels. 3.
Djed Spence: Spence was superb today, with the scoreline not reflecting his performance one bit. He was always surging forward trying to create chances out of nothing. Defensively, he was strong too and it’s brilliant to see Djed finally displaying his quality to the masses. 7.
Archie Gray: It was a first-half to forget for Archie Gray as an own goal rounded off a pretty poor performance from the eighteen-year-old. The young midfielder looked uncomfortable on the ball when faced with the Everton press and was moved into centre-back in the second half. He didn’t show much sign of improvement and got lucky on one or two occasions that he didn’t gift Everton a goal. 2.
Pape Sarr: Sarr gifted Everton possession moments before the hosts took the lead, and was quite poor on and off the ball throughout the match. He was eventually replaced by Mikey Moore. 2.
Lucas Bergvall: Bergvall was one of Spurs’ brightest sparks on a pretty dull day. He was lively with the ball at his feet and aggressive in the tackle, and he was often ambitious with his passing. They didn’t always come off but when they did, they looked superb. 6.
Dejan Kulusevski: After an unusually quiet first half, Deki stepped up with a nicely taken dinked finish to claw a goal back for Spurs. The Swede wasn’t too influential but he had his flashes of brilliance, most importantly the goal. 5.
Heung-min Son: Son wasted some huge opportunities in the first half, as he first took too long to unleash a shot which allowed Tarkowski time to make a recovery, and minutes later he had a tame effort saved by Pickford. The Spurs captain showed embarrassing leadership out there and was shown up by 17-year-old Mikey Moore when he came on. 1.
James Maddison: Maddison was really unimaginative and safe with his passing which isn’t something we’re used to with him. He was quiet on the left flank in the first half and pretty ineffective centrally in the second. 3.
Substitutes:
Richarlison: Richy was kept quiet in the second half and didn’t have a clear-cut chance to score until very late on, when he got on the end of Moore’s delightful cross to tap home. 5.
Mikey Moore: Mikey was really exciting when he had the ball, and he took the ball to the byline before delivering a low cross into the area on a number of occasions. He even registered an assist after floating a beautiful ball to the back post for Richy to tap home. 7.
