Dan Sassi Joins the Coasters
AFC Fylde are delighted to announce the loan signing of defender Dan Sassi who joins from local side Blackpool until the end of the season.
The centre half joins the Coasters having previously spent two loans spell at Rochdale respectively.
Sassi signed for the Seasiders in February 2024 after arriving from then Premier League side Burnley for an undisclosed fee. The towering defender was a regular for Burnley Under 21’s in Premier League 2 where he was captain of the successful youth side.
Prior to his spell with the Clarets, the 21-year-old was also on the books at Championship side Stoke City.
Speaking on the move, the defender said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here.
“After speaking to the Gaffer about what we’re trying to do for the rest of the season, I’m really happy to be on board.
“My experience at this level proved beneficial for me as it was my first real experience of men’s football and hopefully I can take that experience into this spell here.”
Head Coach Kevin Phillips added: “We’re delighted to welcome Dan to Mill Farm.
“We’ve been looking to add to our defensive ranks and we feel over the last couple of weeks we’ve added some real quality in there.
“I know Brucey (Steve Bruce) and Aggers (Steve Agnew) very well and they speak very highly of him. I watched him just before Christmas and I thought he stood out and he of course already has National League experience which is crucial.”
Everyone at the club welcomes Dan to Mill Farm and wishes him all the best during his time at AFC Fylde.
