Scott On 'Tricky' United Win

Grant Scott is “delighted” to secure another three points on the road despite his Hibernian not performing to their highest level on Wednesday evening.

Goals from Poppy Lawson, Abbie Ferguson, Kirsten Reilly, Kirsty Morrison and Eilidh Adams secured a 5-0 victory over Dundee United at Foundation Park.

“It’s tricky coming away during the midweek,” Scott told HibsTV.

“The pitch was a bit sticky the girls were telling me, but no excuses. We did not really perform as well as we hoped to do tonight.

“That may sound disrespectful, as we need to knock over a tough team fighting for their lives. But the girls have done it again."

The five-goal triumph sees Hibernian go ten matches unbeaten in the league, a run that began over three months ago on 6 October 2024, and Scott is well-aware of the positives that come from another solid result.

“We’ve got to take the positives from it. [Such as] the clean sheet, with Noa [Schumacher] coming back into the side.

"There’s lots of pluses and I’m delighted to get the three points ultimately.”

Scott is also thrilled to see the goals finally being shared around the entire squad — easing the pressure on goal-hungry striker duo Adams and Kathleen McGovern.

“I mentioned to the group that I thought we were relying too heavily on [Kathleen] McGovern and Eilidh [Adams].

“We had to add some goals elsewhere.

“It shows the strength in the squad.”
