Schumacher: We Did What We Needed To Do

0 8

Noa Schumacher has admitted the Hibees are disappointed in their performance, despite winning 5-0 on Wednesday evening.

Dundee United were comfortably dispatched at Foundation Park - with Poppy Lawson, Abbie Ferguson, Kirsten Reilly, Kirsty Morrison and Eilidh Adams all getting on the scoresheet.

The five-goal haul sees Hibs reach 10 games without defeat, but there are still frustrations in the team around how the team reached that milestone.

"I wouldn’t say it was a five-star performance," Schumacher remarked.

"But we definitely did what we needed to do.

"I think we wanted to get a little more done standard-wise and finish a lot more opportunities."

While there was hope for more of a clinical edge in attack and better play in transition, there was another clean sheet kept in defence.

For Schumacher, that makes it four clean sheets in seven appearances since joining in the summer.

"I think it’s mostly a team reflection of what we can get done. It’s great to be here.

"It has been a year of growth for me, both mentally off the pitch and on the pitch.

"The girls have been really great, it’s been a great experience for me.

"We’ll see where it goes from here."

Up next for the Hibees is Sunday's Sky Sports Cup Semi Final clash versus Aberdeen at Meadowbank Stadium, with a place in the Final awaiting the victors.

"Hopefully we can keep our streak going and just get our job done," said the American shot-stopper.

"And handle what we need to handle."
