Tottenham could blow Napoli out of the water in the race for midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur could hand their former manager Antonio Conte a big blow as they get set to make an offer for one of the Italian coach’s top transfer targets.
Tottenham want reinforcements in midfield
While most of the speculation in the first week of the transfer window was about strikers and defenders that Spurs were pursuing, that has now changed over the last few days.
A number of outlets have revealed that Ange Postecoglou is on the lookout for a midfielder and Spurs have set their sights on the likes of Davide Frattesi, Johnny Cardoso and Nicolo Fagioli.
It has now been suggested that Tottenham are ready to push ahead with an offer for one of the trio.
Spurs could blow Napoli out of the water in transfer race
TV Play have now provided an update on the race for Frattesi, claiming that Napoli risk being ‘mocked’ by Tottenham who are willing to put a sizable offer on the table for the Inter man.
The report says that Conte has identified the 25-year-old as one of his top targets but the Nerazzurri are demanding around €30m-€35m (£25m -£29.3m), which is considered excessive by the Serie A league leaders.
However, it is asserted that Tottenham are willing to put €32m (£26.8m) on the table for the Italy international and are thus threatening to swoop for the player.
Davide Frattesi is ready to move to Tottenham
The report claims that apart from Tottenham and Napoli, Roma are also in the race for the 25-year-old, having taken ‘concrete steps’ towards his signing.
In fact, it is revealed that joining the Giallorossi is Frattesi’s preference, although he is also interested in an ‘adventure at Spurs’ as he is fascinated by the Premier League.
It is asserted that should Tottenham reach an agreement with Inter, the former Sassuolo man is ‘ready to pack his bags’ and head to London.
