Julian Edelman Reacts To Patriots Hiring Mike Vrabel As Coach

Some of the best Patriots players in franchise history seem to be on board with New England’s new head coach.

Tedy Bruschi admittedly was “surprised” Mike Vrabel landed the job, only because he knows the significant impact his former teammate could make at One Patriot Place. Tom Brady also might be jealous that the Patriots landed Vrabel, as he reportedly wanted the Las Vegas Raiders to interview the ex-linebacker before he made his New England plans clear.

Julian Edelman, meanwhile, loves what Vrabel brings to the table in Foxboro, Mass. Edelman recently spoke about the three-time Super Bowl champion with former Patriots executive Scott Pioli on “Games With Names” and he resurfaced the clip when Robert Kraft officially found Jerod Mayo’s replacement.

“Just wanna be like Mike,” Edelman captioned his post on X. “Welcome back Coach. @CoachVrabel50”

Even with other appealing candidates like Ben Johnson out there for New England, Vrabel probably was the best person for the job. But make no mistake: Vrabel has his work cut out for him as he tries to turn the Patriots from a cellar dweller to a contender.
