Confirmed Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Arsenal, Bayindir & Garnacho start in FA Cup third round

0 4

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has named his starting line-up for today’s FA Cup third round tie against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Red Devils were recently on a four-match losing streak before an impressive 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool at Anfield. They were the better side in the second half.

Amorim will be anticipating more of the same against the Gunners. United will be looking to avenge the 2-0 league defeat to the London club at the Emirates last month.

Ahead of the game, the Portuguese has made a noticeable change in goal. He confirmed in his pre-match presser that Altay Bayindir would start ahead of Andre Onana.

The Turkey international will aim to make amends after his double blunder in the 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter-final back in December.

The back three stays the same. Matthijs de Ligt had a poor second half against Liverpool with two high-profile mistakes, but he starts on the right side of central defence.

Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez will continue to partner the Dutchman in the backline.

Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot likewise keep their places at right and left wing-back respectively.

Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo were solid as a midfield pairing against Liverpool. The duo continue in the centre of the park for the second game running for United.

In the final third, there is a change. Amad Diallo is only on the bench after a minor injury. Alejandro Garnacho has come in to partner Bruno Fernandes in attacking midfield.

Rasmus Hojlund has been misfiring in front of goal, but he starts up front ahead of Joshua Zirkzee.

Confirmed Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Arsenal: Bayindir; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot; Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.
