Match Preview: Falkirk vs Queen’s Park
After a winning start to 2025 at home last Saturday Queen’s head to the Falkirk Stadium to take on the league leaders this Saturday afternoon, weather permitting.
This will be the third meeting of the sides this season, with the first two finishing with narrow wins for the Bairns.
The first match, at The Falkirk Stadium, took place in early August on the opening weekend of the season, with the home side running out 2-1 winners. Goals from Calvin Miller and Sean Mackie, either side of a wonder strike from Dom Thomas, proved enough to give Falkirk a winning start on their return to the William Hill Championship live on BBC Scotland.
The teams then met in late November at Hampden, again in front of the BBC Scotland cameras. Aidan Nisbett’s 26th minute goal proved enough to separate the sides in a match that left Spiders Head Coach Callum Davidson disappointed with his team’s performance levels.
In the build up to this one, the club media team spoke to Callum Davidson and Louis Longridge.

The season so far
The Spiders go into this one looking to build on last week’s winning start to 2025 having picked up all three points against Livingston at Hampden. Goals in either half from Jack Turner secured the points for The Spiders in a match which saw Stevie May miss a penalty for the visitors and Queen’s finish with 10 men following a red card from Zach Mauchin.
John McGlynn’s Falkirk side finished 2024 with a thrilling 3-3 draw against Dunfermline at East End Park on 27th December, a result which saw them take a four point lead over Ayr United into the New Year. Having lost one, won one and drawn the other of their last three league outings The Bairns will undoubtedly be looking to start the new calandar year as they mean to go on,
