Tottenham fans will love what a scout has said about Antonin Kinsky
An anonymous scout has now likened Tottenham’s newest addition, Antonin Kinsky, to one of the best goalkeepers of the modern era.
Antonin Kinsky: An exciting addition to Tottenham
Goalkeepers tend to mature late, but Kinsky is an exception. The 21-year-old has been outstanding between the sticks for Slavia Prague since breaking into their starting lineup at the start of the season.
Not only has Kinsky made some outstanding reflex saves for the Czech side this season, but he has caught the eye with the composure he has shown in possession, which is becoming an increasingly important attribute for goalkeepers in the modern game.
It is perhaps the 21-year-old’s comfort on the ball and his ability to confidently spray passes that particularly attracted Ange Postecoglou‘s men to him.
Comparisons made with modern-day legend
Kinsky‘s stats this season are nothing short of outstanding, with the youngster having kept 12 clean sheets in 19 league games for Slavia, conceding only nine goals in the process.
According to WhoScored, no other goalkeeper across the Europa League has a better pass-completion rate than the new Tottenham addition.
It is these sorts of numbers and performances that have now led one Bundesliga scout to compare the new Spurs addition to German legend Manuel Neuer.
The anonymous scout, who has followed Kinsky’s development closely, told The Atheltic about the youngster: “He reminds me of Manuel Neuer. His style has some differences, but he seems bigger than he really is. He has presence and gives off a sense of not being afraid.”
Kinsky will have to be patient and bide his time
While Kinsky arrives at Tottenham with a huge reputation and an extremely high ceiling, he will have to be patient. Even though he was thrown straight into the XI and impressed against Liverpool, the Czech starlet will not be immediately installed as Spurs’ number one.
In all likelihood, Guglielmo Vicario will continue being Spurs’ top choice for the next 18 months at least, unless he has a terrible run of form.
The Czech youngster will get opportunities in cup competitions and he has to grab those with both hands – just as he did against Liverpool – and prove that he is a future Tottenham number one.
