The race for one of Tottenham’s rumoured summer targets is now heating up as the player is officially allowed to speak to foreign clubs after entering the final six months of his contract.

Jonathan David has been one of the most consistent goalscorers across Europe since joining Lille four and a half years ago, with the striker managing 101 goals in 210 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
There is a big question mark over the 24-year-old’s future as his contract will end this summer and unsurprisingly, a number of clubs are thought to be following his situation with interest.
Tottenham are one of those clubs, with several outlets claiming over recent months that the Lilywhites are one of the frontrunners to sign the striker.
Four PL clubs make contact with Jonathan David
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has now pointed out that the Lille star is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-French club now that he is into the final six months of his deal.
He further reveals that four unnamed Premier League sides have already contracted David‘s entourage to propose such an agreement.
The journalist also states that two Serie A clubs have made an offer for the Canadian international, but he adds that for the moment, the forward is focused on having a strong second half of the season at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
A move for David might depend on who Spurs sign in January
It seems inevitable that Richarlison will exit Tottenham at the end of the season, and one would thus expect the club to be in the market for another striker.
However, a move for David could depend on what happens in the current transfer window.
If Spurs successfully manage to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan this month with an option to buy in the summer, the Lille man might no longer be at the top of their wishlist at the end of the season.
