Red Sox Drop Video From New Edition Of Trevor Story Tradition

Trevor Story still needs true on-field time to impact the Boston Red Sox, though his leadership impact is on display for another offseason.

The shortstop played just 163 games over his first three seasons in Boston. While he hasn’t been on the field to the level his $140 million contract commands, Story’s made his best effort to elevate players around him.

Story hosted several players last winter in his home area of Dallas to train together and push fellow Red Sox teammates. The shortstop shared he inherited that tradition from former Colorado Rockies infielder Troy Tulowitzki and continued that recently.

Story welcomed more players to the Dallas area this week and the Red Sox documented the workouts in a new social media video. Teammates such as Triston Casas and Rob Refsnyder among others attended the latest “Story Camp” for workouts.

You can watch the clip here.

The veteran shortstop also spoke recently with NESN.com’s Greg Dudek on another big move he hopes Boston completes this winter after impact pitching moves.

Healthy seasons for Casas and Story should have more of an impact to push the Red Sox closer to the postseason than usually recognized. That development and an improved starting rotation makes that a reality.
