Patriots Fans Will Have Deflategate Nightmares After Harmless Bucs Video

0 11

Deflategate is still a touchy subject for New England Patriots fans a decade after it happened.

So, they’ll probably want to steer clear of a video the Tampa Bay Buccaneers posted to their Instagram account Saturday.

Buccaneers equipment manager Brad Berlin detailed the process his staff goes through to get footballs ready for gamedays. It likely will bring up memories of the scandal the Patriots endured and resulted in Tom Brady being suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season, the organization being fined $1 million and New England being docked two draft picks.

Curious enough, there was no mention of PSI in the video, which was at the root of Deflategate. But it’s clear Berlin didn’t reveal all the Buccaneers do in the preparation of their footballs.

“We have balls in case it rains, we have balls for indoors, we have balls for high humidity and they’re all prepared a different way,” Berlin said. “I’m not going to give away all our trade secrets, but they’re all prepared a different way.”

Ball pressure obviously is a key component to getting a football ready. All quarterbacks like the football to feel a different way and Buccaneers fans certainly had Brady on their minds when watching the video.

“When did TB12 come in with his deflator during this process??” one person commented on the video.

Brady and the Patriots will always be attached to Deflategate, even when it comes to a video that has no mention of them.
