Boro take Tonks on loan

The 19-year-old moves to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium having helped Torquay United to the summit of The Vanarama National League South during the first half of the campaign.

Tonks penned his first professional deal with the Premier League outfit in summer 2023, before progressing on to AFC Bournemouth’s Development squad.

Full-back Finn earned a contract extension with The Cherries in May last year, after completing another successful loan spell under Paul Wotton at Truro City.

The Winchester-born youngster continues to build up his experience in senior football and joins up with Spencer Day’s squad for the second part of The Vanarama National League South season.

Manager Spencer Day added: “A great addition to our squad.

“Finn has started many games for Torquay and is highly thought of and I’m sure will have a great second half of the season.

Tonks has been allocated shirt number 3.
