Tottenham postpone move for 22-yer-old Englishman until summer 2025

While Spurs are fans of one EFL star, they have now decided to postpone a move for him until next summer rather than sign him in January.

Tottenham eyeing 22-year-old James Trafford

Since Guglielmo Vicario fractured his ankle last month, Tottenham have been linked with moves for a number of goalkeepers across Europe.

The one who has been most heavily linked is Burnley’s James Trafford, who has been exceptional since establishing himself as the Clarts’ number one last season.

It has been reported by a few outlets that Tottenham are now weighing up a £20m move for the Englishman and are set to intensify talks over a deal to sign him over the coming weeks.

The Athletic have now confirmed that the Burnley man is indeed on Spurs‘ radar, with the youngster viewed as a top prospect at Hotspur Way.

The fact that Trafford has Premier League appearance under his belt and is homegrown is thought to make him a particularly attractive option to Tottenham.

However, it is revealed that Spurs have decided that they would only make a move for the Manchester City academy graduate next summer rather than in January.

This is because, as things stand, Guglielmo Vicario is expected to be back in action within the next couple of months.

Fraser Forster has done well despite two howlers against Man Utd

Goalkeepers are often remembered for their mistakes rather than the good saves they make as that is the nature of the job.

Forster will unfortunately have to live with the tag of being shaky on the ball and unreliable on the back of his two howlers against Man Utd.

However, apart from those two lapses in concentration, the 36-year-old has not put a foot wrong, and one can understand why Postecoglou would be comfortable with the idea of the former Saints man continuing until Vicario is ready to return.
