Radu Dragusin injury update as Tottenham are left with no fit centre-backs
Ange Postecoglou sheds light on Radu Dragusin’s problem after the Romanian came off with an injury in the latter stages of Tottenham’s defeat at the City Ground.
Tottenham players are dropping like flies
It was an afternoon to forget for Spurs at Nottingham as they fell to yet another away defeat, with Anthony Elanga’s 28th-minute strike proving the difference between the two sides.
To make matters worse, Spurs also lost two of their back four, with Dragusin coming off injured in the 87th minute while Djed Spence was sent off in stoppage time.
Tottenham can ill afford to lose more of their defensive players, with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies also being unavailable for the last few weeks.
Ange Postecoglou provides Radu Dragusin injury update
Dragusin went down holding his leg in the 87th minute, with the Romanian seen grimacing with what appeared to be a muscle injury.
The centre-back could not continue, with Yves Bissouma filling in as a centre-back in the final minutes of the game. Let us remind you that Bissouma was partnering 18-year-old Archie Gray.
When asked about the 22-year-old’s injury, Postecoglou said after the 1-0 loss (via Football.London): “He was a bit sore. He hurt his ankle and said he couldn’t continue so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Ben Davies could be back against Wolves
The saving grace for Tottenham and Postecoglou is that Davies has recovered from his hamstring injury and is now back in training.
In fact, the Australian coach confirmed ahead of the clash against Forest that the 32-year-old could be ready to take on Wolves on Sunday.
If Davies is back for the game, one would expect him to partner Archie Gray at the heart of the Spurs defence against Gary O’Neil’s men.
