Tottenham first half player ratings vs Man United in the Carabao Cup
The half-time whistle has been blown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Carabao Cup quarter-final tie between Spurs and Manchester United. Let’s take a look at our Tottenham player ratings for the first 45 minutes.
Tottenham first-half player ratings vs Man United in Carabao Cup
Fraser Forster – A quiet first half for Forster, but he won’t mind that. He hasn’t had to do anything noteworthy. 6
Pedro Porro – Made some good recoveries and took a powerful shot outside the box which was saved and scored by Solanke on the rebound. He’s leaving far too much space on the right flank though. 6.5
Radu Dragusin – Solid defending from the strong Romanian centre-back in the first half. He’s looking much more comfortable in Tottenham’s back four these days. 7
Archie Gray – Looked a little frantic once or twice, but his overall defending has been good enough. He looks comfortable enough playing the centre-back role. 6
Djed Spence – Having not made a competitive start for Spurs before the Southampton game, Spence is playing his second consecutive match, covering for the injured Destiny Udogie. He has looked lively on the ball and wants to get at Man United’s defence. 6.5
Pape Matar Sarr – Looks positive on the ball, always looking to bring it forward. He did receive a yellow card for a foul on Bruno Fernandes though after Spurs left too much space behind them. 6.5
Yves Bissouma – Keeps winning the ball back and has made five tackles so far. He also blocked a shot on goal. 7.5
Dejan Kulusevski – Made a skilful turn past Bruno Fernandes to get a shot on goal, but other than that, Tottenham’s player of the season so far has not done a huge amount. He doesn’t look as effective playing on the wing. 6.5
James Maddison – Maddison hasn’t reached the heights of his brilliant performance against Southamtpon just yet. 5.5
Heung-min-Son – Played some good passes and looks well up for this one. Although critics have claimed Son is slowing down, it hasn’t looked that way tonight. 6.5
Dominic Solanke – Solanke has now scored in four consecutive appearances against Manchester United for both Bournemouth and Tottenham. His finish into the bottom right corner was perfect and he has contributed off the ball too, pressing the opposition defence. 8
