Jamie O’Hara names signing Tottenham should make to upgrade Timo Werner

0 2

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a new attacker has sparked an intriguing suggestion from Jamie O’Hara, who believes that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford could be the perfect fit. O’Hara claims that the 27-year-old forward, when at his best, is a player “way better” than Timo Werner, and would bring the hunger Spurs need.

Marcus Rashford hints at a fresh challenge

Earlier this week, Marcus Rashford left football fans buzzing when he revealed to Henry Winter that he might be ready for a new chapter in his career.

The Manchester United forward stated, “For me, personally, I think I am ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it is going to be ‘no hard feelings’.”

These words, while candid, ignited a whirlwind of speculation across fanbases, as clubs now contemplate whether they could make space for the 27-year-old winger in their squads.

Tottenham Hotspur, currently in a state of flux with inconsistent Premier League performances, might be eyeing Marcus Rashford’s services to bolster their attack.

Despite showing potential under manager Ange Postecoglou, some attacking players, particularly Timo Werner, have struggled.

Postecoglou has publicly acknowledged Werner’s difficulties, raising questions about the German striker’s future at Spurs and opening the door for new attacking options.

Jamie O’Hara calls for Marcus Rashford to join Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara, a former Tottenham midfielder turned pundit, has not shied away from sharing his bold opinions on potential signings.

This time, he turned his focus to Marcus Rashford, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to spark a debate. O’Hara tweeted, “Would you take Marcus Rashford at Spurs? At his best, he is a top player.”

His remarks immediately caught the attention of fans, some of whom were quick to express scepticism about the idea.

One fan, unimpressed by the suggestion, fired back in the comments: “You have lost the plot, Jamie. Why should we look at players who cannot make a success of themselves? We have had too many of them!”

However, O’Hara stood firm in his belief, passionately defending Rashford’s potential to succeed at Tottenham. “A hungry Rashford with a point to prove is a big step up from Timo Werner,” he replied, dismissing concerns about the winger’s recent struggles at Manchester United.

For O’Hara, the idea of a motivated Rashford—a player still in his prime and with a point to prove—offers a tantalising prospect for Tottenham’s attack.

Spurs fans remain unconvinced about Rashford

In light of O’Hara’s comments, the debate over whether Tottenham should pursue Marcus Rashford has only intensified.

On our own social media platforms, we posed a similar question to fans: “Should #THFC look to make a move for Marcus Rashford?” The response was overwhelmingly negative, with most supporters expressing doubts about the Manchester United star’s suitability for the team.

However, given the club’s history of misjudged signings, Spurs fans understandably approach such suggestions with caution.

Whether Tottenham should heed O’Hara’s advice remains a question, but what is clear is that any move for Rashford would need to come with assurances of a genuine resurgence—something the north London faithful are desperate to see.
