McAlonie Expecting 'Tough' Derby At Oriam

0 5

Michaela McAlonie states Hibernian will "take the game to Hearts" on Sunday afternoon despite the opposition's strong home record.

Excluding the Hibees' derby win last month - which occured at Tynecastle Park - Eva Olid's side have five wins and two losses at Oriam so far this season.

Well aware of the host's home advantage on the compact pitch at Riccarton, McAlonie is not phased by the challenge ahead.

"I think Hearts have got quite a good record playing at Oriam.

"We know what to expect and that’ll be a tough game. We will look to take the game to them.

"We’ve been playing Partick, Hearts, Partick, Hearts. That’s quite good because we’ve recently just played [Hearts], so we know what to expect.

"We’ve just been focusing on ourselves. The preparations have been really good and we are looking forward to this game."

The international break came at the perfect time for McAlonie, as the midfielder only just returned from a brief spell on the sidelines during our 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle a fortnight ago.

The knock ruled her out of contention for the Club's dramatic Capital Cup victory over Hearts in Gorgie, but Micky is now excited and prepared to give her all - in any role necessary - at Oriam on Sunday.

"I think I’ve been doing well. I had an issue with my knee a couple of weeks ago but I think we handled it very well.

"To come back in at the Partick game for a few minutes was really good ahead of this week, so I’m happy about that.

"I just get put wherever Grant thinks he needs me. I’m capable of helping the team in any position."
