Nice parts of brum (33 replies)
Sometimes seems like the people of Birmingham aren’t its greatest advocates, often slagging it off as a tip etc.
Been a long time since I lived there but back then Saltley and Nechells were a bit of a tip which was where I spent most of my time. The south Birmingham axis of Edgbaston-Harbone-Moseley (understand Kimg’s Heath is its slightly tattier and trendier relation now) always looked rather nice. Though Edgbaston is more up market. A lot of the rest of brum seemed a bit suburban, other than the bits that looked like Saltley and Nechells. Seems to me most people would like some nice houses, people that get along, a nice pub or two, the odd cafe etc. Good schools of course.
My family that lives there now lives in the much posher Deep South outside the boundaries of the city. Does make me wonder where maybe people would live with a free choice ( and the cash).
Don’t really know the west side. It was a different language over there.
