Scott 'Annoyed' By Stale Draw

0 2

Grant Scott was left frustrated by his side's inability to find the answer to their creativity problems during Hibs Women's draw versus Partick Thistle.

The girls played out a 1-1 draw at Meadowbank Stadium on Sunday and departed the ground dissatisfied after dropping two points on home turf.

Scott gave an honest response when asked by Hibs TV on his general thoughts on the match on what was an irritating afternoon overall.

"Their gameplan has worked better than ours today.

"The clear objective from them was to keep themselves in the game and minimise our opportunities. I think they have done that well.

"It was disappointing from us. It’s annoying that we didn’t figure it out in-game. But these things happen.

"We’ve got to dust ourselves down, learn from it and keep progressing."

Flying winger Tegan Bowie had lashed in the opener right on half-time to put the Hibees at an advantage heading into the break after a composed first-half performance.

Plans to build on the opener were quickly dashed within seconds of the second half beginning, as Cara Henderson thrashed in the equaliser immediately after the restart.

"The goal is really disappointing for us to lose," Scott said.

"It’s a tremendous finish. But, for us, we have gifted them cheap possession in a bad area of the pitch.

"We [gifted possession to Partick] several times. I’m quite disappointed with the players in that aspect. We need to do better in those situations."

Despite the demoralising draw, Hibs remain unbeaten in nine and have a chance after the international break to hit double-digits in that regard with a trip to face city rivals Hearts at Oriam.

The derby sees us return to Scottish Cup action and will be a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.

"It’s an interesting one to prepare for," Scott admitted. "It’s been a strange month having Partick, Hearts, Partick, then Hearts again.

"We need to look at this one back. We played into Thistle’s hands with our play. We need to think about this one first before looking at the next one.

"We will be ready."
