What happened between Pedro Porro and some Spurs fans after Ipswich loss
One Tottenham player was greeted with frustration from some home supporters when he went to applaud them after the full-time whistle against Ipswich Town.
Fans’ frustrations boiled over after Ipswich defeat
The 2-1 loss against Ipswich Town seems to be the final straw for some Tottenham fans, who have seemingly lost faith that this side is capable of challenging near the top end of the table or delivering silverware.
Boos were ringing out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the full-time whistle, with the fans making their displeasure known to the players and Ange Postecoglou.
In fact, there was even one awkward moment when the Spurs boss stopped and stared furiously at a fan or group of fans just before he was about to head back down the tunnel with the Australian seemingly not toi pleased at what was shouted at him.
Pedro Porro’s attempts to applaud the fans were not appreciated by some
Alasdair Gold has revealed that Pedro Porro was also on the receiving end of some frustration from at least certain supporters after the full-time whistle.
The right-back reportedly went to the South Stand to applaud the supporters and may have been left surprised by the angry reaction he got.
The journalist said on his YouTube Channel: “I understand, from some people who were in the south stand that Porro got a little bit of anger from the south stand when he tried [to applaud],”
“Frustrated fans. You can kind of understand why people are frustrated, but yeah, I think they kind of let their feelings be known to him which maybe surprised him a little bit.”
The players and Postecoglou will understand the frustrations
The Spurs first-team squad and the coaching staff will understand why the frustration of some fans boiled over after the team threw away a big chance to move up to third in the Premier League table.
However, the supporters need to get behind the side to help them turn this around as the last thing the players need is for the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to turn toxic.
That will only make things even more difficult for the squad and for Postecoglou, who are already under a lot of pressure.
The international break is always a frustrating time since it does not allow the manager the opportunity to regroup and work on certain patterns ahead of the trip to Manchester City on November 23rd/
