One of the world’s biggest clubs are continuing to take a keen interest in one Tottenham player and they will assess him closely during the international break.

Spurs star’s consistency has elevated him to top-tier

Based on the performance levels that Pedro Porro has maintained from the start of last season, it would be hard to name too many right-backs in world football better than the Tottenham man at the moment.

His displays in North London have reportedly led to the player getting envious glances from some of Europe’s biggest sides.

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that the Spaniard is on Real Madrid’s radar (AS), and an update has now emerged about Los Blancos’ pursuit of the player.

Real Madrid will watch Pedro Porro during the international break

Relevo have now claimed Madrid are fans of Porro and will watch the Spurs man closely in Spain’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Denmark and Switzerland.

The report says that Carlo Ancelotti’s men are aware that they will have to sign a long-term replacement for the ageing Dani Carvajal sooner rather than later, with the former Sporting Lisbon man fitting the bill.

However, the outlet does point out that Porro is contracted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2028, and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not exactly make the deal straightforward to complete.

Porro’s previous comments a concern for Tottenham

The pull of Real Madrid is enormous and that is particularly true for a Spanish player like Porro.

The worrying part for Tottenham fans is that the defender seemed enthusiastic about the idea of joining the La Liga giants when he was previously asked about the possibility.

When quizzed about Madrid’s rumoured interest in him, the 25-year-old told Relevo last month: “It fills you with excitement that clubs like Real Madrid are interested in you. You have to be focused on your job, but, well, the fact that Madrid is interested in you is because you are doing things well.

“Am I ready? Yes. Obviously I am, because I try to work and give my all on a day to day basis. If I get the chance to make that leap, tomorrow I will be ready for that very reason.”
