Hunter Henry Praises Former Patriots Coordinator Candidate

Hunter Henry enjoyed his time with Nick Caley when he served as an assistant coach with the New England Patriots under Bill Belichick.

Caley departed after the 2022 season to take a spot under the brilliant mind of Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay. Caley had the chance to return to the Patriots in 2024 as the offensive coordinator. Instead, he stuck with McVay in Los Angeles and turned down the position.

His fingerprints still exist in the building at One Patriot Place. New England tight end Hunter Henry praised Caley for the impact he made during the captain’s first two seasons with the Patriots.

“Caley was one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever had,” Henry told reporters Wednesday, per team-provided video. “He’s a tremendous football coach and a tremendous person too. I got two years with him and they were a great two years. He helped me grow in so many aspects of my game. How I can see the game, how I can run different routes, do different things in the run game. He was a terrific coach and he’s doing great things over there too. I know he’s been a big asset for them over there. He’s still one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever had.”

The Patriots and Rams square off Sunday with offense in mind at Gillette Stadium.
