From the time it was built, the Stans pitch has always been decidedly on the small side - made slightly worst lengthwise when the GM was built.

When St Andrews was built:

"The playing surface, at 115 by 75 yards (105 m × 69 m), was one of the largest in the country, had a four-yard (3.7 m) grassed border, and was surrounded by a cinder running track"

The CURRENT size is

100 by 66 metres

I stand corrected.

I guess I mean “since the more substantial stands infrastructure was put in place”.

Amazing to think that they managed to fit in a running track.

Though I think viler had one too.
