Big blow as United star suffers calf injury in PL clash against Brentford

0 2

Manchester United suffered another setback during their Premier League clash against Brentford.

The Red Devils have had to contend with multiple injuries this campaign and they have suffered a fresh blow with Casemiro sustaining a possible calf injury versus the Bees.

Casemiro had a good second half in particular versus Thomas Frank’s side, but he could not last the entire game. He asked to be substituted in the 85th minute with a right calf issue.

The news is a huge concern for the Red Devils, considering they are already without Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount for the near future with injury problems of their own.

Manuel Ugarte replaced Casemiro against the Bees. The Uruguayan is most likely to partner Christian Eriksen in central midfield when United face Fenerbahce in the Europa League in midweek.

They should go into the game with some confidence following a superb comeback win over Brentford.

United did not look like scoring in the first half where the visitors opened the scoring out of the blue.

The Bees netted before the break as Matthijs de Ligt was being treated for a nasty cut on his head.

Erik ten Hag was far from pleased as the referee ordered De Ligt to leave the field before the corner leading up to Ethan Pinnock’s goal.

However, United provided the perfect response after the interval with goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund sealing the victory.

The Red Devils ended a five-match winless run in fine fashion and hopefully, they can carry the momentum in the coming games.
