Kick off is 1pm at Ainslie Park Stadium on Sunday 13 October for our first meeting of the season versus our Edinburgh neighbours.

Upcoming Fixtures

  • Spartans Women Vs. Hibernian Women - Sun, Nov 11th 2024, 13:00

THE LOWDOWN

Hibs head into the fixture on the back of two victories, with the latest coming in league action at Meadowbank.

Defender Siobhan Hunter proudly skippered the girls to a 5-1 win over Montrose on her landmark 300th appearance in a Hibernian shirt.

The fantastic Hibs Kids fixture also saw the return of Club captain Rachael Boyle and young striker Rosie Livingstone after the pair had missed 19 months and six months of action, respectively.

Kathleen McGovern, Eilidh Adams, Livingstone and Lauren Doran-Barr all found the scoresheet in fine fashion to help Hibs edge past a resilient Montrose side.

McGovern and Adams both reached 11 goals in 10 games with their efforts, while Livingstone netted a special acrobatic strike on her much-anticipated return and Doran-Barr scored in her second successive game.

THE HOSTS

Spartans also picked up a huge result last weekend, scoring a 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Foundation Park.

Their away win was secured by a Hannah Jordan brace, as the young attacker netted either side of half-time to seal three points for Jack Beesley's outfit.

The Edinburgh club have won three of their last four league matches, losing just once - to Rangers - while picking up crucial results against United, Aberdeen and Montrose.

Their solid recent form has them eighth-place in the SWPL standings - three points ahead of the three relegations spots with considerably greater goal difference than the four teams below them.

Our last meeting against Spartans was at Ainslie Park 11 months ago - with goals from Leah Eddie, Jorian Baucom, Abbie Ferguson and Ellis Notley securing a 4-1 win for Grant Scott's side.
