Injury Update Ahead Of Motherwell

Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray gave an update on his squad’s fitness ahead of this Saturday’s match against Motherwell.

Gray was missing five bodies last weekend as his side put in a valiant performance against Rangers at Ibrox.

One of the five missing was Martin Boyle, who also missed out on a call-up to the Australia National Team for the upcoming October international break. Our Head Coach gave an update on him.

“Boyley hasn’t trained at all since the operation on his wrist. That went well and he’s progressing all the time.

“He’s developing every day, but we’re not taking any risks on him in case he falls on it or anything like that. I fully expect him back in days rather than weeks, which is the positive thing.”

There’s positive news around Joe Newell, Nicky Cadden and Luke Amos too, as all three returned to elements of team training.

“Joe is back in contention; he’s trained all week, which is great for him,” said our Head Coach.

“Nicky Cadden is the same, him and Luke Amos were carrying knocks last weekend. Every day in training we’ve been monitoring all three of them because they’ve not participated in every part of the sessions.

“Every day we’ve been seeing how they recover after that, and we will see how they are.”

Kieron Bowie is the only long-term absentee having suffered a serious hamstring injury last month.
