NFL Rumors: Patriots Rival Unsurprisingly ‘Monitoring’ Davante Adams

Davante Adams could be on his way out of Las Vegas, and there are unsurprising potential suitors for the All-Pro wide receiver.

Adams reportedly informed the Raiders that he'd prefer to be traded, and they reportedly were "growing open" to the idea of dealing away the 31-year-old.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys were among the teams "monitoring" the situation and checked in with Las Vegas.

"I’m told at this point that Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price -- but Adams wants out ASAP," Russini reported Wednesday.

NFL insider Josina Anderson added that the Pittsburgh Steelers also were interested in trading for Adams.

The Jets' reported interest shouldn't surprise anyone. Adams and Aaron Rodgers expressed interest in playing together again multiple times and New York desperately needs more weapons around its quarterback.

It wouldn't be wise for teams like the New England Patriots to seek out Adams since he'll be coming off a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 3. But the opportunity to add talent is one that hopeful contenders won't pass up, and with Las Vegas choosing to be patient, it could drag on until the Nov. 5 NFL trade deadline.
