Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham have always liked the look of one Barcelona player, while Chelsea and Arsenal have shown interest in the past too.

Quantity over Quality out wide for Spurs?

Ange Postecoglou is certainly not short of options out wide, with Heung-min Son, Timo Werner, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison able to operate in the wide areas.

The Tottenham head coach also has the option of using 17-year-old starlet Mikey Moore, who many in the Spurs academy have high hopes for.

However, there is no doubt that many of these attacking players have underperformed at the start of the season and this might perhaps tempt Postecoglou to look for reinforcements in the flanks.

Raphinha an option for Spurs?

Tottenham may look towards Raphinha to address their weakness, with the winger being heavily linked with a move to the North London club in the past.

In fact, Mundo Deportivo (via TEAMtalk) even suggested back in June that the Lilywhites were preparing an offer for the 27-year-old, but that never came to fruition.

Romano has now confirmed that the Brazilian has been on the radar of Spurs as well as some of their Premier League rivals.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel: “Raphinha has always been attractive to several clubs, not only in Europe, when Barcelona signed him from Leeds there was interest from Chelsea and interest from Arsenal. He’s always been a player of interest for Tottenham, they have always appreciated him.

Raphinha now central to Barca’s plans

Raphinha’s situation at Camp Nou has changed following the arrival of Hansi Flick, with the winger having started every single game for Barca this season.

The former Leeds man is thriving in his new-look Barca side, with five goals and three assists in just six league matches for the Catalan club so far.

The Brazil international is contracted to the La Liga giants until 2027 and if he continues producing the goods, it is going to be difficult for Spurs to prise him away.
