Ducks v Beavers football rivalry immortalized with Bobblehead

0 3

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As the rivalry between the Ducks and Beavers celebrates its 128th game in Corvallis on Saturday, Oregon football fans can commemorate the occasion with a special edition Bobblehead.

The Bobblehead features Oregon's Ducks mascot on one end of a football field and the Oregon State's Beavers mascot on the other, both holding footballs and making the No. 1 gesture.

Sold by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum's Online Store, the figure costs $50 plus $8 in shipping for presale purchases. They are expected to ship in January of next year.

“This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Oregon and Oregon State fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school and state pride!” said National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar.

Though the University of Oregon's move from the Pac-12 Conference to the Big Ten Conference this year made the future of the rivalry between them and Oregon State University uncertain, the teams announced the series would continue at least through 2025.

This year marks the 130th anniversary of the rivalry.

Saturday's game, which is expected to create traffic congestion along I-5, kicks off at 12:30 p.m. at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
