Ian Wright expects Arsenal and Tottenham to play out a high-scoring draw on Sunday while Paul Scholes expects the Lilywhites to emerge with all three points.

Arsenal have injury problems this week

Under normal circumstances, many would have felt that the Gunners come into this game as favourites as not only have they won their last two visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but they are also expected to push Manchester City for the Premier League title again this season.

However, Arsenal will be without some key players, none more important than Declan Rice, who is suspended, and Martin Odegaard, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Spurs may thus sense an opportunity to get one over their local rivals and build some momentum after a poor start to the season.

Scholes and Wright predict NLD score

Scholes believes that Ange Postecoglou’s men will get the job done against the Gunners on Sunday. When asked to predict the game, he told Stick to Football: “2-1 Tottenham.”

However, Wright backed his former side to emerge with a point, insisting that a draw would be a decent result for Mikel Arteta’s men, given the circumstances.

The 60-year-old responded: “We’re going to go 2-2. I think that our defence is good, if we go there and get the point this week, I’m not being negative, with that we’ve got missing, I think that’s a good point.”

Both teams will look to win the game, which is why this could make for an extremely entertaining contest.

While Spurs will have most of the possession, the home side are going to find it difficult to break down this extremely well-organised Arsenal side.
