Solomon falls to defeat against Destiny Udogie

Israel suffered two losses against Belgium and Italy in the Nations League over recent days, which was expected, but the Middle Eastern Nation did throw some punches in both matches.

That was especially true on Monday as they fell to a 2-1 loss to Italy, with goals from Davide Frattesi and Moise Kean seeing the four-time world champions race into a 2-0 lead before Mohammad Abu Fani pulled one back for Israel.

Solomon played all 90 minutes while Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie came on as a substitute in the second-half, replacing Federico Dimarco on 71 minutes.

Guglielmo Vicario was an unused substitute on the bench for the Italians.

Manor Solomon receives praise from Italian media

Gazzetta dello Sport (page 12) were quite complimentary of the Spurs winger for his showing in Budapest, handing him a rating of six out of 10 despite being on the losing side and praising his willingness to always show for the ball.

They wrote about Solomon: “The curling shot that misses the goal in the first half is not a small mistake. But he always tries, he doesn’t hide, and always offers the play to his teammates.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like Solomon is learning to trust his body again after the long injury layoff and is improving with each outing.

If he can stay fit this season, there is no doubt that he will dominate the Championship, and he might potentially even have an outside chance of forcing himself back into Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham.
