21-year-old attacker says Man United new arrival wanted him to move to Old Trafford

0 2

Bayern Munich attacker Jamal Musiala has been linked with a move away from the German club in recent months.

The 21-year-old has now revealed that Joshua Zirkzee tried to get him to join Manchester United earlier in the summer. The Dutch international attacker completed a move to Manchester United from Bologna and he wanted the German international to follow him to Old Trafford.

Zirkzee became friends with Musiala during their time together at Bayern Munich and the 21-year-old has now revealed that it was more of a joke between the two friends, and it is a dream for them to play together one day.

He said to Welt am Sonntag via SportWitness: “You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together in a team one day. The jokes go both ways: I also told Josh that he should come back to Bayern. But you shouldn’t take that too seriously.”

Jamal Musiala has been linked with Manchester United

Jamal Musiala would have been a quality addition

Musiala is undoubtedly one of the best young attackers in world football and he could have been an explosive acquisition for Manchester United. They could use more cutting edge in the final third and the 21-year-old could have transformed them. Meanwhile, Zirkzee did quite well in Italy before moving to Manchester United, and it will be interesting to see if if he can hit the ground running in the Premier League and make an immediate impact.

The German attacker will be out of contract in 2026, and it would not be a surprise if clubs tried to sign him next summer. The German outfit will not want to lose him on a free transfer and therefore they could consider cashing in on him in 2025 if he does not agree on an extension with them.
