1. Sierra Canyon (2-1 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

The Trailblazers were back in the win column Friday by beating Oaks Christian 35-10. Wyatt Becker completed 14 of 20 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns and Dane Dunn rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game early due to injury. Massiah Mingo and Dino Scordia each hauled in touchdown passes. Nevada Miller was the leading tackler with nine total tackles and two tackles for a loss and Mikhal Johnson had seven tackles, four tackles for a loss, a sack and two QB hurries.

2. Oaks Christian (1-1 overall, 0-0 Marmonte League)

Oaks Christian had a setback on Friday night against Sierra Canyon and were dealing with multiple injuries. Noah Laberge made a 50-yard field goal and Christian Knoos finished with 14 total tackles and one tackle for a loss. Hayden Lowe had eight tackles, a QB hurry and blocked a field goal.

Next: vs. Roosevelt, Friday, 7 p.m. Friday

3. Chaminade (0-2 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

A grueling schedule continues for the Eagles, who lost to San Diego Cathedral Catholic on Friday. Chaminade deployed two quarterbacks in Cameron Pooley (11 of 22, 128 yards, 1 touchdown) and Ari Sykes (10 of 15, 111 yards) and Marquis Jones rushed for 56 yards. Logan Carpenter had five catches for 57 yards, six tackles, an interception and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Next: vs. Servite, Friday, 7 p.m.

4. Newbury Park (2-0 overall, 0-0 Conejo Coast)

Brady Smigiel went 18 of 26 passing for 214 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 29 yards and one touchdown in a 35-7 win over Arroyo Grande. Sophomore Tyler Stromsoe rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries and Ryder Sheehann also rushed for a touchdown. Carter Taylor had 11 tackles and Drew Cofield had three pass deflections.

Next: vs. Oxnard Pacifica, Friday, 7 p.m.

5. Simi Valley (2-0 overall, 0-0 Marmonte League)

The Pioneers had a bye last week.

6. Thousand Oaks (1-1 overall, 0-0 Conejo Coast League)

The Lancers bounced back from a season-opening overtime loss to beat Ventura 20-13 on Friday. Thousand Oaks’ defense held the Cougars to just 32 rushing yards.

Next: at Agoura, Friday, 7 p.m.

7. Valencia (0-2 overall, 0-0 Foothill League)

The Vikings offense moved the ball, but Santa Barbara was still too much for Valencia and scored 31 points in the second half to come away with a 47-23 win. Brady Bretthauer completed 16 of 29 passes for 275 yards with two interceptions and rushed for 56 yards and another touchdown. Brian Bonner rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Symeon Wilkins recorded nine tackles and three tackles for a loss.

Next: at Murrieta Mesa, Friday, 7 p.m.

8. Notre Dame (1-1 overall, 0-0 Mission League)

The Knights scored with 36 seconds left in the game to beat Bishop Diego, 35-34. They were led by Steele Pizzella’s 240 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 84 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Elliot Cooper and Lloyd Weaver each hauled in one touchdown.

Next: at St. Francis, Friday, 7 p.m.

9. Paraclete (1-1 overall, 0-0 Angelus League)

Paraclete had its hands full against Leuzinger’s rushing attack, which was led by Journee Tonga’s 350 yards and three touchdowns, and lost 58-13. Stacy Gentle finished with 13 tackles. Jeffrey Patino had 11 tackles, a pass deflection, a fumble recovery and caused a fumble.

Next: at Hart, Friday, 7 p.m.

10. Birmingham (0-1 overall, 0-0 West Valley League)

The Patriots lost to St. Bonaventure in their season opener as a nonleague schedule filled with CIF Southern Section opponents gets underway.
