FIFA trials FVS as Colombia open home hosted U-20 World Cup with a win
September 2 – Hosts Colombia got the U-20 Women’s World Cup underway with a 2-0 victory against Australia in a tournament that will serve as a trial for the football support system (FVS).
With FIFA boss, Gianni Infantino in attendance at a packed El Campin Stadium in Bogota, the Colombians secured all three points in their curtain-raiser with second-half goals from Yunaira Moreno and Linda Caicedo, the team’s star who also featured at this summer’s Olympic Games.
