Tottenham need to find a Lo Celso buyer

Spurs are in a race against time to find permanent moves for Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon, both of whom are into the final years of their contracts, with neither player reportedly in Ange Postecoglou’s plans (Football Insider).

It has now been revealed by Estadio Deportivo that Betis, as well as Aston Villa, are both eyeing a free deal for the Argentine midfielder when his contract with Tottenham runs out next summer.

Both clubs allegedly think such as move is possible, but the Lilywhites are fighting to ensure that it does not happen as they look to move the player on before the window shuts at 11 pm today and get a fee for him.

Lo Celso is not keen on Aston Villa move

Interestingly, the report adds that despite the best efforts of Unai Emery and Villa’s president of football operations, Monchi, Lo Celso is not convinced about a move to Villa Park.

The 28-year-old is said to have made up his mind to leave the Premier League after being left bruised by his experience in North London.

It is also worth noting that the Turkish transfer window is open for longer than the main European window, so Lo Celso and Reguilon rumours could rumble on even if they don’t secure exits today.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lo Celso is theoretically entering the peak years of his career, and he certainly would not want to rot on the bench for a full season, which is why one would expect the midfielder to seal a permanent move before the deadline.

He is also a bargain for someone at around £10m-£15m this summer.
