Birmingham City Finalising Midfielder Capture

Birmingham City are in the process of finalising a move to sign a defensive midfielder amid their frustration at not getting Jay Stansfield, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

 

Blues are active on transfer deadline day and have just seen an offer for Fulham attacker Stansfield rejected.

 

It was a big bid in the region of £10m and it remains unclear whether Birmingham will go back with another offer before the end of the window.

 

 

They are though pushing ahead on other fronts and are in the process of finalising the capture of a defensive midfielder.

 

Boss Chris Davies wants another holding midfielder in his squad and Birmingham are pushing to deliver for him.

 

 

It is unclear who Blues are in the process of signing, but they are now putting the finishing touches to the capture.

 

Birmingham have won two of their three League One games so far and are unbeaten.

 

 

They are next due to play host to Wigan Athletic on Saturday at St Andrew’s.
