This was the claim made by The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel on Last Word on Spurs, with the journalist suggesting that Spurs are expected to focus on outgoings rather than incomings in the final days of the window.

Mokbel made it clear that while there is no specific player Tottenham are looking at right now, but he refused to completely rule out a late surprise signing.

Spurs could still make a deadline day signing

Romano has now revealed that Spurs have been actively looking for opportunities to strengthen their squad over the last few days.

He pointed to the fact that the Lilywhites have managed to keep most of their transfer dealings under wraps and suggested that they might pull another rabbit out of the hat before the deadline.

When asked if Tottenham could make a late signing, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “Yes, because they’ve been considering opportunities already in recent days.

“So, I think for Tottenham, there is still the chance to do something else in the final hours, in the final days. At the moment, there is still nothing I can say because Tottenham have been fantastic in keeping things quiet this summer.”
