Report: How much Tottenham Hotspur earn per fan at each home game

An analysis from Sports Business Institute Barcelona has found that Tottenham Hotspur earn the second-highest revenue per fan across the Premier League, with only Chelsea making more from each spectator.

This has been calculated by dividing each Premier League club’s total matchday revenue by their average attendance.

Spurs are said to be earning £100.50 per fan who walks through the turnstiles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This is just marginally short of Chelsea, who make an average of £100.70 per fan at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs are raising the bar for stadium revenue

However, Tottenham’s bigger stadium capacity seems to earn them a lot more in total matchday revenue than their London rivals, with Stamford Bridge only seating a maximum of 40,341 fans.

There is then a substantial drop after Spurs and Chelsea, with no other club averaging more than £80 in revenue per fan. The top five are rounded off by Liverpool (£79), Arsenal (£75) and Manchester United (£74), with Manchester City in sixth place with £71.1.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was built to maximise revenue by adding more corporate seats than other venues across the division. So the average might not really tell the whole story as it might be pushed up by expensive outliers.

Additionally, Spurs’ home ground also likely makes more in food and beverage sales than most other venues in the country.

On the whole, one would likely find that there is not a big difference between how much Tottenham and Arsenal fans pay for their tickets.
